History

Branch 1 formed the first nucleus of the Faculty of Science, which was established under Decree No. 2883 dated 16 December 1959. Dr. Hassan Musharfieh was appointed as Faculty Dean under Decree No. 5346 issued on 15 October 1960.
In 1976, a decree was issued to establish branches of the faculty in a number of governorates, and the building that was established in Hadath was designated only for Branch 1.
Tyre & Dibbiye Section are affiliated with the Faculty of Science - Branch 1, where first-year students study for a bachelor's degree in the faculty's specializations.
